Even children’s cartoons such as Peppa Pig can be difficult to understand when you’re beginning Chinese. Yet their pacing and storylines may feel slow or uninteresting to you as an adult. Finding material that is both approachable and enjoyable at your HSK level can feel surprisingly difficult.
Made for kids, still hard to follow
A cartoon made for children isn’t necessarily made for language learners. Familiar-looking scenes can still be full of vocabulary and expressions you haven’t learned.

Bambam Languages is a language-learning product developed and operated by DATABAMBAM PTE. LTD., a Singapore-registered company.
Our idea is simple: take stories from the public domain and adapt them to fit HSK vocabulary lists. With a focus on Southeast Asia, we bring these adaptations together with audio and learning support in Vietnamese, Thai, Bahasa Indonesia, and Khmer.
